This two-week look ahead schedule highlights upcoming planned construction activities and work hours, including low impact nighttime work and anticipated noise levels.
Please note that work is weather dependent, and timelines are subject to change.
We don’t anticipate the activities scheduled over the next two weeks will generate noise beyond typical ambient noise levels, but we are continuing to monitor construction-related noise and will make adjustments as required.
Maintenance Holes and Bypass Construction
Per the notification issued on June 28, construction of two new maintenance holes required for North Shore Wastewater Treatment Plant Project pipe connections has started. The maintenance holes will be located in the West 1st Street laneway, just north of West 1st Street and east of Philip Avenue. Maintenance Hole #1 excavation, shoring and pipe installation is underway.
Some noise and vibration impacts are anticipated for businesses in close proximity to this work, and noise shielding, and vibration monitoring protocols have been developed to mitigate related concerns. The construction of the new maintenance holes is anticipated to be complete in October 2021.
