North Shore Wastewater Treatment Plant Two-week Look Ahead Schedule

Thank you for your continued patience as work on West 1st Street and the treatment plant project site progresses.

This project look-ahead schedule is intended to keep you updated on what activities to expect over the next two weeks, particularly regarding possible construction noise.

The table below shows the planned construction activities from June 14 to June 27, 2021.

Please note that work is weather dependent, and timelines are subject to change.

We don’t anticipate the activities scheduled over the next two weeks will generate noise beyond typical ambient noise levels, but we are continuing to monitor construction-related noise and will make adjustments as required.

Overnight Noise Enquiries

We are also happy to advise that starting Saturday, June 12, you can submit enquiries about overnight noise related to the project anytime between 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.

To submit an overnight noise enquiry:

  • Simply call the Community Liaison Officer phone number: 604-928-7810
  • Provide details about the noise being reported to Call Centre staff

Response:

  • The Call Centre will immediately share this information with the overnight site superintendent, who will investigate and take corrective action, as appropriate.
  • The Community Liaison Officer will follow up by email later the following morning, to confirm details and provide an update on the status of the enquiry.

Potential Hydrovac Work on West 1st Street

Pending review and approval by Metro Vancouver, there may be additional hydrovac work scheduled in the areas surrounding the proposed two new maintenance holes in the West 1st Street laneway, north of West 1st Street and east of Philip Avenue. Once details have been confirmed, we will provide an update to stakeholders.

Single Lane Alternating Traffic

In addition to the noted construction activities, Single Lane Alternating Traffic is expected to continue on West 1stStreet, between Pemberton Avenue and Phillip Avenue until June 15, but may be extended beyond this date. During the peak traffic periods of 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.; and 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., one lane of traffic in each direction will be reinstated.

If you have any questions about the work described in this notification, or would like to sign up for Project updates, please contact the Project’s Community Liaison Officer at 604-928-7810 or community@accionadbjv.ca.
